Designed by Bicknell & Hamilton in collaboration with Ray Moorcroft, British Rail's regional architect for the London Midland region, in 1964, this Grade II listed "Power Signal Box" is a true icon of Brutalist architecture. With its zigzagging concrete walls and industrial "accordion" shape, it stands as a gritty, unapologetic tribute to the modernization of Britain's railways and the city of Birmingham itself.
