Rising from the banks of the Harlem River like a man-made cliff face, River Park Towers is one of the most powerful examples of Brutalist architecture in New York City.
Completed in 1975, these twin giants redefined what social housing could look like. Designed by the visionary firm Davis, Brody & Associates, they brought the sculptural, monumental ambition of Brutalism to the Bronx—but swapped the traditional grey concrete for a rich, dark brick.
With their faceted facades, massive scale, and "sky lobbies," they are a bold counterpoint to the city's skyline. They proved that the Brutalist style wasn't just about cold concrete; it could be warm, textural, and undeniably dramatic.
This collection celebrates the raw power and geometric beauty of the Bronx’s most famous architectural giants.
