For decades, it was the tallest building west of the Mississippi. To millions of gamers, it is the Maze Bank Tower. To aliens in Independence Day, it was target number one.
Officially known as the U.S. Bank Tower (but originally the Library Tower), this 73-story skyscraper is the definitive icon of the Los Angeles skyline. Designed by Henry N. Cobb of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners and completed in 1989, its interlocking circular geometry and creamy granite facade make it a masterpiece of Postmodern corporate architecture.
Rising 1,018 feet above Downtown LA, it is famous for its glowing glass crown (which lights up for the Lakers and Dodgers) and its starring role in Grand Theft Auto V.
Whether you are a fan of Los Angeles history, a GTA gamer, or an architecture purist, this collection celebrates the building that defines the West Coast skyline.
